I love family photography. It’s at the heart of almost all photography. I spend a good deal of time looking back on photos of my family and plenty of time photographing them. It happens almost every day. The children become so used to the camera it seems as though they hardly know it is there. That’s how I like to take family photos. This way the result is something very natural and you see the true characters and interactions.
A family photo shoot could be in a place that everyone feels at home with; somewhere you walk, where the children love to play or just a favourite spot. This makes the pictures extra special as well as making sure everyone is relaxed; not that it’s too relaxed around children. Children have bundles of natural energy and it’s that energy and natural interaction with the people and world around which I love to capture.
